Kieaira Lucas

Project Assistant

Kieaira Lucas is a project assistant with the Stop Hate Project at Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law where she manages the No Hate hotline, a hotline in which individuals and organizations from across the country can call in to report a hate crime and get resources to combat hate in their community. Moreover, Kieaira works on Stop Hate Project’s Campuses Against Hate initiativean initiative that hopes to bring knowledge and more easily accessible resources to combat hate to students, staff, and faculty, where she has conducted research regarding best practices to addressing hate on college campuses. In addition to her role as the hotline manager and work on this initiative, she is also the Undergraduate Internship coordinator, where she recruits, interviews, and hires interns from across the country that are interested in doing work in the civil rights field. Prior to this role, Kieaira worked at Contemporary Family Services, Inc. as a Community Support Worker, where she used a holistic, evidence-based approach to providing services that are responsive to the social, psychological, emotional, cultural, and biological needs of children, families, adults, and elders residing in Washington, DC that were facing a number of issues, such as housing discrimination, homelessness, and food security. Prior to working at Contemporary Family Services, Kieaira worked as a Paralegal at BWW Law Firm, LLC, where she was primarily responsible for case management, conducting legal research, including fact gathering, and preparing legal documents.

Kieaira graduated from Bowie State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice: Community-Based Corrections. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at Howard University’s School of Social Work.
