Adonne Washington is a Legal Fellow for the Digital Justice Initiative at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.
Adonne graduated with her Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law in May 2020. Adonne received her B.A. in Social Relations and Policy with a minor in Public Relations in spring 2017 from Michigan State University. During her time as a law student, Adonne worked as a legal extern with Public Knowledge working on matters of intellectual property, broadband, content moderation, and platform competition issues. Additionally, she worked as a summer associate at Honigman, a large full-service law firm in Detroit, Michigan and interned for the NCAA Office of Government Relations, conducting research, drafting legal memorandums and providing analysis on legislation affecting the world of college athletics. While in law school, she worked in the Intellectual Property Trademark Clinic, assisting clients with their trademark searches and completing and filing their USPTO applications. She currently serves as the teaching assistant for the 2019-2020 year with the same clinic. She was an e-board member for the Intellectual Student Property Association, as well as a member of the Black Student Law Association and the Sports and Entertainment Law Student Association where she took part in various events and community service projects.
