WASHINGTON, D.C., August 3, 2015 –The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law celebrates a member of its Board of Trustees, Paulette Brown, who will be installed today as President of the American Bar Association for 2015-16.

Ms. Brown is the first woman of color to serve as President of the ABA and she is the ABA’s third African American President. She is a partner at Locke Lord LLP in its Morristown, New Jersey office as part of its Labor & Employment Group and co-chairs the firm’s Diversity Committee.  In her nearly forty-year legal career, she has served in private practice, in-house counsel to a number of Fortune 500 companies, and as a Municipal Court Judge.
